Newton Lime Inhibitor Concrete Pre-Treatment for Drainage Systems

Newton Lime Inhibitor is a specialist liquid treatment designed to prevent the buildup of calcium carbonate (lime) within cavity drain systems. When waterproofing a basement with new concrete whether it’s a new slab, underpinning, or a concrete liner wall there is a high risk of "free lime" leaching out as water passes through the structure. This lime can quickly solidify within drainage channels and sump pumps, leading to system blockages and potential failure. This inhibitor works by being applied directly to the concrete surface, where it penetrates and chemically reacts to neutralize the free lime. By binding the lime within the concrete, it ensures that the water entering the cavity drain system remains clear, protecting the long-term integrity of the drainage path and reducing the frequency of maintenance.
