RIW Cavity Drain Sealing Rope

RIW Sealing Rope is a flexible butyl and rubber blend sealing rope designed specifically as an accessory within the RIW cavity drainage waterproofing system. Its good adhesion to most common surfaces combined with good movement capability makes it well suited to the dynamic conditions encountered in below-ground waterproofing installations.

The rope performs three key roles within the Cavity Drain system. It provides a reliable seal at overlapping sheet junctions between Cavity Drain R20 and R7 membranes, ensuring continuity of the waterproof barrier at laps. It seals around service entry pipes where they penetrate the membrane, preventing water tracking through these vulnerable details. It also acts as a gasket around the mechanical fixings used to secure Cavity Drain R20, R7 and Plaster Drain, maintaining a watertight seal at each fixing point.
