Built into perimeter cavity and load bearing walls on brownfield and contaminated sites, it resists radon, methane, CO₂, VOCs and hydrocarbons. CE marked to EN 14909:2012 Type A, compliant with BS 8485:2015+A1:2019 and suitable for NHBC Amber 1 and Amber 2 applications.

Description

The Rhinoplast Evolution Gas DPC is a high-specification multi-layer damp proof course from Principal Building Products, specifically developed for use on brownfield and contaminated construction sites where a standard DPC is not adequate. It is designed to be built into perimeter cavity and load bearing walls as part of a complete Rhinoplast gas barrier membrane system, bridging the wall construction and the below-slab membrane to create a continuous gas-tight envelope around the building.

Unlike traditional bitumen or pitch-based DPCs, the Evolution Gas DPC contains no hazardous materials and will not extrude under load. Its fourteen-layer co-extruded construction incorporates two layers of ethylene vinyl alcohol co-polymer (EVOH), giving it exceptional resistance to methane, radon, carbon dioxide, VOCs and hydrocarbons. The embossed surface finish aids lap jointing, and installation can be completed using sealing tapes or heat welding.

CE marked to EN 14909:2012 Type A, the product meets all guidance in BS 8485:2015+A1:2019 (Table 7) and CIRIA C748, and is suitable for all characteristic Gas Situation (CS) ground gas regimes including NHBC Amber 1 and Amber 2. Preformed internal and external corners, top hat collars for pipe penetrations and ancillary tapes are available to complete the system.
