Sika Black Jack 904 Bitumen Roof Felt Adhesive

Sika Black Jack 904 Bitumen Roof Felt Adhesive is a cold-applied, oxidised bitumen-based adhesive for bonding all types of roofing felt to metal, concrete, timber and roofing felt, no heating or specialist equipment required. Once cured, it forms a tough but flexible waterproof film that hardens and softens with changing temperatures. Also suitable as a cold gritting solution for bonding mineral chippings on roofs with up to a 10° slope. Available in 1L, 2.5L, 5L and 25L tins.

Good to know

• All surfaces must be dry, stable and free from dirt, dust and grease before application
• Prime concrete and other porous surfaces with Sika Black Jack 902 Bitumen & Flashing Primer and allow to dry fully before applying
• Apply by brush or mop and leave open for 15–30 minutes to develop full tackiness before laying felt
• Roll felt home firmly to exclude all air, weight down until fully adhered
• Felt laps should be minimum 75mm at edges and 150mm at roll ends
• Check all bonding 24 hours after laying, press home any areas lacking full adhesion
• On timber roofs, the first felt layer must be nailed down; second and third layers may be bonded with 904
• Not suitable for vertical surfaces
• Apply between +10°C and +25°C, surfaces must be free from ice and water
• Clean tools immediately with Sika Wonder Wipes or white spirit | Shelf life 24 months
