GCP Aerofill 1

GCP Aerofil 1 is a versatile expansion joint filler suitable for a wide range of structural and facade applications. Its low compressive strength makes it the recommended choice for soft compression joints in brickwork facades in accordance with BS 5628: Part 3: 2005, and for bridge expansion joints in compliance with Specification for Highway Works Clause 1015, where preventing the transmission of horizontal forces to abutment walls is essential.

The closed cell polyethylene construction resists water absorption, and the material is chemically inert to most dilute acids and alkalis, and resistant to oil and hydrocarbons. Aerofil 1 achieves 90% recovery after release of load, and operates effectively between -5°C and +100°C. It can also be used as a backing filler around pipes, kitchen and sanitary ware, and for internal gap filling prior to surface sealing.
