Newton CDM 508R is a professional-grade, 8mm-stud cavity drain membrane that serves a dual purpose as both a "Type C" waterproofing system and a robust barrier against ground gases and hydrocarbons. It is significantly heavier and stronger (700g/m²) than standard 8mm membranes, providing enhanced durability and long-term stability. When installed as part of the Newton CDM System, it creates an air gap between the structure and the internal finish, allowing water to be managed and directed to a drainage system. It is BBA-certified and has been independently tested for resistance against radon, methane, CO2, and liquid hydrocarbons, making it an essential component for projects requiring both waterproofing and gas protection.
