Description
Description
Newton CDM Overtape is a single-sided, fleece-backed butyl rubber tape designed to provide a secondary reinforcement seal over membrane joints and complex structural details. Available in both 100mm and 150mm widths, this tape is used to "over-seal" joints that have already been connected with internal Joint Tape, creating a redundant waterproofing layer that further protects against water and gas ingress. The unique fleece backing makes the tape highly flexible, allowing it to be easily molded into 90-degree internal and external corners, around floor-to-wall junctions, and over structural protrusions. Once applied, the fleece surface provides an excellent key for subsequent finishes, ensuring that plaster or screeds bond effectively to the sealed area.
Benefits:
- Provides a robust secondary seal over membrane joints for maximum system security
- Highly flexible fleece backing conforms easily to sharp corners and irregular structural shapes
- Available in two widths to suit both standard joints and wide-gap reinforcements
- Creates a gas-tight and watertight barrier at critical floor and wall junctions
- Fleece surface allows for superior adhesion of follow-on internal finishes like plaster
Good to Know:
- Available in 100mm x 20m (Product Code A9) and 150mm x 20m (Product Code A37)
- This is a single-sided tape intended to be applied over the top of the membrane surface
- All surfaces must be clean, dry, and dust-free before application to ensure a permanent bond
- The 150mm version is ideal for sealing more complex junctions or wider overlaps
- Frequently referred to as "Corner Tape" due to its ability to maintain a seal in structural angles
