Description
Description
Newton HydroBond 410 GeoDrain is a two-core external drainage membrane designed to manage groundwater and relieve hydrostatic pressure on earth-retained structures. It consists of a water-impermeable HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) drainage core with a non-woven geotextile filter layer thermally welded to the face. The geotextile layer filters out suspended soil particles, preventing the drainage core from clogging, while the HDPE core allows water to flow freely to a suitable land drain or collector pipe. When used as part of a "Type A" waterproofing system, it acts as both a drainage layer and a slip membrane, protecting the primary waterproofing layer from stresses during backfilling.
Benefits
- Significantly reduces hydrostatic pressure by directing groundwater away from the structure
- High compressive strength (420 kPa) ensures the drainage channel remains open even under heavy soil loads
- Integrated geotextile filter prevents soil fines from entering and blocking the drainage system
- Functions as a slip membrane to protect primary waterproofing coatings during backfilling and soil settlement
- Extremely durable and resistant to all chemicals commonly found in groundwater and soil
Good to know
- Supplied in rolls of 2.0m x 12.5m (Product Code: M18)
- Total roll area is 25m²
- Features a total thickness of 11.3mm (at 2kPa pressure)
- Should be used in conjunction with a primary waterproofing membrane like HydroBond 403 Plus or HydroBond 109-LM
- Quick and easy to install; can be capped at the top edge using the HydroBond 410 Geo Profile (Code: A15)
