Novia 500 Gauge FR Virgin Polythene is a Class B-s1,d0 fire rated, virgin grade, single-ply blown polythene air and vapour control layer (AVCL). Complies with EN 13501-1 Fire Classification B-s1,d0 and is CE marked to EN 13964. Suitable for use in high rise applications under Fire Safety Approved Document B. Provides good moisture vapour resistance and minimises air leakage and energy heat losses, improving the long-term energy efficiency of constructions. A lightweight, low cost fire rated solution for standard and high rise constructions. Milky white translucent polythene with no text or images, allowing for ease of installation to the structural framework. Available on NBS Chorus and NBS Source. Supplied single wound as a 1.5m x 50m roll (75m²).

Good to know
- Class B-s1,d0 fire classification is valid when installed flush against a substrate with fire class A2-s1,d0 or A1, such as 12mm plasterboard, with no cavity between product and substrate
- All laps and edges must be fully sealed and taped
- Use Novia 30mm Double Sided Butyl Tape for all overlaps and around framework
- Use Novia Aluminium Foil Tape or Novia Metallised BOPP Tape over overlaps to ensure a fully airtight seal
- Any mechanical fixings must penetrate through the butyl tape to seal around punctures
- Novia AirSeal 310 FR sealant can be used where additional sealing is required, for example at internal corners, floor sections or window reveals
- For a full Class B installation use in conjunction with Novia FR Breather Membrane or Novia UV Facade FR Breather Membrane for open facade applications
