Description
Description
RIW Cementfill HB is a single-component rapid hardening waterproof high build repair mortar, formulated using advanced cement chemistry combined with microsilica, fibre and styrene acrylic copolymer technology. The result is a low density, high strength mortar with enhanced polymer properties that cures quickly and performs reliably in demanding waterproofing applications.
Unlike Cementfill FC which is designed for thin fairing and filling work, Cementfill HB is the high build option in the RIW cement-based range, capable of 5 to 80mm build-up in a single pass on horizontal, vertical and overhead applications. Its excellent low sag properties make it particularly well suited to vertical and overhead work where material retention is critical, as well as for forming fillets at internal corners.
Supplied as a single-component system requiring only the addition of clean water, it is straightforward to mix and use on site. It can be applied to damp surfaces, is totally waterproof, and resists up to 100m head of positive and negative water pressure.
Cementfill HB is fully compatible with the wider RIW cement-based waterproofing system and is typically used alongside RIW Cementseal, Cementflex or Cementfill FC, with RIW Cementjoint used to reinforce joints and changes of plane.
Typical Applications: High build structural repair mortar, Rendering and profiling on vertical, horizontal and overhead surfaces, Fillets at internal corners
Benefits
- Ready for use on site, just add clean water
- Yields 13.2 litres for a 20kg powder
- A 20kg tub covers 2.64m² at 5mm thickness or 42lm of 25 x 25mm fillet
- Rapid hardening
- Totally waterproof
- 5mm - 80mm build up in horizontal, vertical & overhead applications
- Excellent low sag properties
Good to know
- The entire substrate should be pressure washed. This method is also the best way to ‘saturate’ the surfaces, and remove soil, dust and any other loose debris from the
existing wall - Check mortar joints on masonry surfaces
- The strength of the concrete sub base must be 20n/mm²
- A primer is generally not required due to Cementfill being highly polymer modified
- It should be mixed mechanically in a tub, using a drill or paddle mixer on slow speed. Do not use a cement mixer
