Sika Black Jack 901 Black Bitumen Paint

Sika Black Jack 901 Black Bitumen Paint is a full-bodied, solvent-based black bituminous paint designed for the protection of metal, wood and roofing felt surfaces. Once dry, it forms a flexible, odourless and taint-free black film that is highly resistant to water, alkalis, dilute acids, salt spray, oxidation and alcohol. Suitable for general metal protection including gutters, downpipes, tanks and structural steelwork, as well as overcoating wood and felt. Two coats are recommended as a minimum for thorough coverage. Apply by brush or spray. For enhanced UV protection, overcoat with Black Jack 907 Solar Reflective Paint once dry. Use Black Jack 902 Primer on concrete, cement and porous surfaces as a primer coat before applying.

Good to know

• Surfaces must be dry, clean and free from dirt, grease and loose material before application
  
• Wire brush metal surfaces to remove rust; apply a rust-inhibitive primer on heavily corroded areas first
  
• Prime porous surfaces (concrete, cement) with Black Jack 902 Bitumen & Flashing Primer before applying
  
• Stick down any loose felt with Black Jack 904 before overcoating with 901
  
• Apply minimum two coats, allowing 2–4 hours drying time between coats
  
• Clean tools immediately with white spirit or Sika Wonder Wipes before the paint sets
