Sikalastic 1K

Sikalastic®-1K GB is a one-component, crack-bridging, fibre-reinforced cementitious mortar based on cement modified with special alkali-resistant polymers. Simply mixed with water on site, it provides a flexible waterproofing and protective coating suitable for a wide range of below-ground and wet area applications.

It can be applied by brush or trowel to concrete structures, tanks, basins, pipes, basements, bathrooms, showers, terraces, balconies and swimming pools, as well as external wall surfaces to be backfilled in ground. It is also suitable as a flexible protective coating for reinforced concrete structures against freeze-thaw cycling and carbonation.

The product offers good crack-bridging ability, excellent adhesion to concrete, cement mortars, stone and masonry, and can be applied to damp substrates. Its adjustable consistency and good sag resistance make it easy to work with on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Applied in a minimum of two layers to a total thickness of 3mm, it provides no water penetration at 5 bar pressure over 72 hours.

Good to know

• Applied by brush or trowel in a minimum of two layers to a total thickness of 3mm maximum 1mm per layer by brush, 2mm per layer by trowel
• Mix with approximately 6 litres of water per 20kg bag for brush application, or 4.4 litres per bag for trowel application
• Once mixed, the product must be used within approximately 30 minutes at +20°C only mix what you need for immediate use
• Suitable for application at ambient and substrate temperatures between +5°C and +35°C
• Each layer must be fully dry before the next is applied, allow approximately 2 days at +20°C before tiling or water immersion
• Tools must be cleaned with water immediately after use, hardened mortar can only be removed mechanically
