Description
Description
Visqueen High Performance Damp Proof Membrane is a robust co-polymer thermoplastic membrane 0.5mm thick, yellow in colour and supplied in 4m x 12.5m centre folded rolls. The centre folded format reduces the risk of cracks in screed and limits creases during installation.
The membrane is sulphate resistant — when installed with heat welded joints it is suitable for use in aggressive ground conditions across DS classifications 1-5 in accordance with the Aggressive Chemical Environment for Concrete (ACEC) classification system, making it appropriate for sites with elevated sulphate or chemical ground conditions. Lap joints can be heat welded or taped using compatible Visqueen system components including VisqueenPro Double Sided Jointing Tape and VisqueenPro Single Sided Tape. BBA Agrement certified. CE and UKCA Declarations of Performance available. EPD available.
Benefits
- Centre folded to reduce screed cracking and installation creases
- Sulphate resistant, suitable for DS classifications 1-5 per ACEC when heat welded
- BBA Agrement certified
- CE and UKCA marked
Good to know
- Lap joints can be taped or heat welded
- Visqueen High Performance Damp Proof Membrane should be installed on a smooth continuous surface e.g. grouted beam and block floor, a compacted blinding layer e.g. 50mm thick sand blinding, or smooth concrete
blinding. The substrate should be free from irregularities such as voids or protrusions.
- Visqueen High Performance Damp Proof Membrane should be stored horizontally, under cover in its original packaging.
- Visqueen High Performance Damp Proof Membrane should be loose laid on the substrate. The membrane should
be clean and dry at the time of jointing. It should be overlapped by at least 150mm, bonded with VisqueenPro Double Sided Jointing Tape and sealed with VisqueenPro Single Sided Tape.
- Alternatively lap joints can be heat welded and this method of sealing laps must be employed when the membrane, is being used to protect against sulphates. When hot air hand welding the lap joints, the joint should be overlapped by approximately 100mm and an approximate 35mm weld is normally maintained. During hand welding, the lap joints should be firmly compressed using a hand roller to ensure an adequate bond is achieved.
